Organize: Fridge + Freebie

The coldest spot in my apartment just got a whole lot cooler!

I've needed to organize my fridge for forever, but let’s face it I like cleaning out my fridge about as much as I enjoy scrubbing toilets. Nothing can motivate me to clean more than a little organizational eye candy, in this case fridge coasters which are not only stylish but also keep your refrigerator cleaner for longer.

Free: Recipes To Try List

As you may have noticed from past posts I am a recipe junkie! With cookbooks, cooking magazines and Pinterest, I have a collection of several hundred recipes that I would like to try. I could save them on my computer, but chances are I would never make them; so I created this handy printable to help me keep up with all of those tempting recipes.

Free: Personalized Recipe Binder

Hi everyone! I'm back thanks to a new laptop power cord! While offline I received several emails and comments asking if I could create an editable Recipe Binder that can be used without the Magnetic Menu Planner.

I loved that idea and was already in the process of creating a Holiday Binder filled with my families favorite Thanksgiving, Christmas and St. Patrick's Day recipes. So why not create a blank recipe binder that can be customized?

The possibilities are endless: slow cooker, cake, bread, breakfast, lunch, snack and party recipes!

Free: Car Emergency Printables

Nothing can halt a summer road trip faster than a mini-crisis, if you’re not ready for it. I know it’s not an overly enjoyable subject; but what would you do if something went wrong?

We have minor bumps and scrapes covered with our DIY Car First Aid kit; But what about the dreaded fender bender? With just about everyone and their mother on the road this summer, it’s a good idea to take some advice from the Boy Scouts and BE PREPARED!

DIY: Car First Aid Kit

Yikes! Yesterday was the last day of school, which means the Summer Travel Season is about to begin! I have family visiting this summer and we're all planning a little road trip. With 4 adults and 2 small children, one of us is bound to need a Band-Aid at some point, so I thought it might be a good time to put together a First Aid Kit for the car. Sure I could buy a pre-made kit, but they're so expensive and they don't have everything that I want to have available when I need it.

Free: Printable No Soliciting Sign

In the last few years my apartment complex has been plagued by unwanted guests. I've had several politicians ask for my vote, people of various religions trying to convert me, and countless people trying to sell me things I don’t need. After receiving 3 knocks in one day, I knew I had to stop the parade of endless intrusions. Grrrrr!

I first thought of making a wooden plaque and hanging it outside, but painting it by hand seemed a little daunting plus I didn't think it would last long against the elements. {Daydreaming about what I could make with a Silhouette}

Since I have a large pane of glass in my front door, I decided to hang a picture frame inside and avoid the issue of weatherproofing altogether. Once I had that part figured, I had to plan out what I wanted it to say. The sign had to welcome my friends and family, but also notify strangers in a nice way that they are unwelcome. Girl Scouts are the only exception, of course!

I've had my sign up for a few weeks now and so far it seems to be working because they no longer bother me!

Free: Reward Chart

I love the idea of a reward chart as a way to inspire good behavior and encourage responsibility! My mom was a teacher and she used an incentive chart both in her classroom and at home, so I am very familiar with those metallic star stickers.

When I received an email from Amanda asking if I had ever considered expanding my chore charts and developing a chore reward chart, I just had to make one and share it with all of you!

Free: Financial Plan

Now that I've learned how to manage my time with the help of a planned weekly schedule, I’m focusing on my next New Year’s resolution – creating a financial plan.

As with anything in life, planning is key to a brighter future. A financial plan provides a road map of where you want to go in life. But before you can make a plan, you need to have some goals

Free: Weekly Schedule

The first week of January is when I start planning my goals for the year. I've been thinking a lot about prioritizing and figuring out how best to spend my time in 2013. Yes, there are already too many tasks that must get done each day...cleaning, organizing, etc. But this year I want to also start making time for what's important in my life.

My husband works long hours, so my top goal is spending more time with him. Carving out a block of time each day to watch a movie or play a board game with my hubby is far more crucial than scrubbing the floors for the umpteenth time.

Free: Holiday Editable Address Labels

I love to send {and receive} holiday cards! I try my best to send them out by December 1st, but that usually doesn't happen. I made printable wrap-around labels for those of us who are fashionably late with our cards. No more endless hand writing, now I can copy the addresses from my Christmas card list and paste them directly into the labels.

Free: Halloween Décor Inventory & Box Labels

Hi everyone! Now that Halloween is over and the candy comas have worn off, it's time to pack away the decorations until next year.

Yesterday, I packed up all of my spooky décor and labeled my new orange and purple storage bins. Now I can just read the label on the front of each bin and instantly know everything that is inside! The inventory list lets me know where each container is stored, so no more unstacking, rummaging through and re-stacking!

Recipe Binders & Magnetic Menu Planner - Part 2

Happy Friday everyone! So in part 1 I showed you how I organize my recipes, now for how I plan my meals for the month!

Recipe Binders & Magnetic Menu Planner - Part 1

Between Pinterest and all of the yummy food blogs out there, I could spend hours browsing through thousands of delicious recipes. The only problem is what to do with my favorites?

This is a little embarrassing... I had so many recipes haphazardly shoved into my former binder that it never closed all the way and the binder spine was starting to tear. Digging through a giant stack of unorganized papers each time I needed to make dinner was so frustrating. It was high time for a recipe binder revamp!

I divided all of my recipes into 7 different categories and made 5 1/2in x 8in recipe cards. Each card has 4 symbols that can be filled in to better describe what type of meal it is (30 min, one-pot, etc.). I no longer have an excuse not to cook!

Media Storage + Free Inventory Printable

Organizing all of your media makes life so much easier, ensuring that you aren't searching endlessly for "Sherlock Holmes" every time you get the itch to watch it.
In January I shared my DVD/Blu-Ray OrganizingLabels, which have worked well for me over the years. Unfortunately when I recently switched to a new media cabinet I needed to find another solution that took up less space.
All those bulky movie cases take up a crazy amount of room, especially if you’re like us and own 391 movie titles!  We decided to ditch the ugly cases and find a cute organized alternative. At first I had my heart set on the Acrylic Media Boxes that I spotted at one of my favorite happy places, The Container Store. After finding out through the product reviews that they only store up to 100 dvd's rather than 120 I decided to purchase "Leather" DVD Towers instead.
